Boston Health, Wellness & Beauty Meetup Group for Black Women Touched By Cancer in the Early Planning Stages

Good news to report! We are in the planning stages of creating a Boston Meetup group that will support black women with cancer and all women interested in health, wellness and beauty tips and information.

The group, which will be lead by CEO and Co-founder, Dianne Austin of Coils to Locs will meet bi-monthly and feature guest speakers to cover topics such as:

  • The power of positive thinking
  • Changes in hair and skin tone during and after chemo
  • Makeup, hair and beauty tips pre and post illness
  • Alopecia/Wigs 101
  • Alternative medicine options (acupuncture, massage, breathing and more)
  • Exercising pre and post treatment

And a whole lot more… The group focuses on black women who have been touched by cancer but is open to all who are interested.

I’d like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jonathan Jackson, who serves in a leadership role at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Lazarex-Cancer Center Equity Program for his funding support of our Meetup Group.

We are on target to launch this group in the fall. Don’t miss out! If you are in the Boston area, join our email list to be contacted once we’ve confirmed our first meeting and location. Not in the Boston area?  We plan on creating video sessions to post online so be sure to join our email list for more information.  Spread the word and thank you for your support.
