Today’s feature story is from Clarise Colbert. Read on to know more of her story.

1. How did you learn that you have cancer? How did you come to terms with your diagnosis?

I was doing some schoolwork and put my hand on my chest and felt a lump. I went to the emergency room and they sent me to get a mammogram and a biopsy.

2. What surprised you most about your experience with cancer?

What surprised me is that I learned I was stronger than I thought I was. Having cancer is no picnic in the park!

3. What did you learn from this experience or what advice do you have that will be helpful for others faced with a similar journey?

I learned to trust God through the process and I tell that to other cancer patients I come across. I started my own nonprofit called Diamond Art for Cancer.
